Car Rental At Newcastle Airport

You’re looking to come to Newcastle and thinking about getting a rental car but you’re asking yourself these common questions:

• Where do I pick it up?
• Where do I drop it off?
• Is there parking at the airport?

When arriving at Newcastle Airport you will walk through gate number 6 into the arrivals terminal where you will find the baggage carousel on your left-hand side and the rental car desks on the right-hand side. If you have booked with Red Spot car rentals you will find a staff member behind that desk. If you have booked with Avis, Budget, Thrifty or Hertz, you will find the staff members in the rental car checking lounge located outside of the terminal. My suggestion would be to grab your luggage and head outside the main glass doors, turn left and proceed to go down the covered walkway past the public bus stop where you will find a small square building as per the photo.

When you grab the car from the rental carpark, you are looking at about a 45 minute drive to the Hunter Valley or a 30 minute drive to the CBD of Newcastle or a 30 minute drive to the heart of Nelson Bay. Newcastle Airport is in the middle of all three destinations.
